some of you may have wondered why stu was on the mountain bike a few weeks ago during the saturday ride. well he is currently over in timor racing in the tour de timor.
first stage was yesterday and covered 130kms and finished with a final 10km climb. there are over 300 people entered and stu came 19th in the first stage with the results on cyclingnews.
Just had a read of the five stages in Timor with no rest days. Far out!!
Keep going Stu, I’m watching with great MTB interest. 🙂
not only that, but in between stages they are sleeping in swags as there is generally no accomodation where they are.
They don’t build em like they used to 😉
Good work Stu, congrats on the first stage, I hope you enjoy the experience and get the results you are after..
You know Ryan, some have to train hard to achieve good results!!
Now thats committment 🙂 Good work STu!
we should have had a tipping comp on this – go stu!
Awesome effort Stu
was just looking at some of the rules
“Front suspension is recommended as a minimum but not compulsory” looking at some of the pics of the road you would need full suspension or you would be standing for an awfully long time 😉
Will definitely write a report.
Tour de Timor is not for roadies
’nuff said.
PS
Still don’t like dogs either.
The dogs strike roadies too 🙂
I hope you are well enough to get out the road bike again shortly.. Now that my unsuccesful effort at trying to be a half decent runner failed (did not beat last years time after almost giving up cycling for 8 weeks) I will be trying to find motivation to start riding more. I will be struggling to make it into the points on Sunday at the moment I think. The group is going from strength to strength.
Glad you were not hurt too much Stu.
Yeah, I hear dogs don’t taste very nice 😉
Wlecome back Stooge look forward to reading your write up
