Well the New Year is almost upon us and it looks like being a hot and windy start to 2010, with strong easterlies forecast for both days. To finish with a tail wind we’ll tackle Benara Road on Saturday, and hope that everyone can stay on two wheels this week.

On Sunday, with 38°C forecast, the chosen route will pass by the Merchant a couple of times to give riders the option of pulling the pin early. Remember to stock up on food and water and to slip, slop and slap.

Also, for my sins I have to drop off some visiting family members at the airport at 5 am on New Years Day. If anyone is keen for a ride leaving at 6.30 tomorrow morning from the carpark let me know. No route is planned as yet – I’ll wait and see if anyone is interested.

Awesome. I’m in. I was going to post something for a public holiday ride starting at 7am if anyone wass interested (using the public holiday ride route) and perhaps a lap round the river beforehand for those who wanted a 100km ride on the first day of the new year but a 6:30am start tomorrow sounds good and I shall see you at the carpark.

Firstly, Happy New Year!
I’m new here and had hoped to join in the novice ride on Saturday morning. Is the novice group still leaving from South Perth foreshore and going round the river at 7am tomorrow morning?
Sorry i’ve not been on the computer for a few days and didn’t realise a post re public holiday ride had not been published. As the home page says 7am on all public holidays; seems a few people I bumped into today checked the blog and presumed it was not going but would have liked to have rode. Still 7 people made it, well down on Mondays ride but very nice and gentle and an enjoable ride.
Shaw novice group does indeed meet at the same place at the same time as the other groups.
Hi Julian, I bumped into Lenny and Jonny on my way home – they were heading to the carpark at 7am and so I joined them for a lap of the river. Too bad you had left.
