Got this in my email just now. I actually noticed it at The Merchant in the window a couple weeks ago but forgot to look it up. It is a Time Trial but it seems to be a short one so those who have not done one before may want to give it a go.
When: 29th May
Time: 7am – 12:30 pm

Dang it. It’s up the zig-zag, not down it. Pity.
Wow.. 15 minutes of pain for $50 entry fee and no junior/elite/masters grades.
Longer you take the better value for money you get. LOL
I was really keen to do this until I saw the price. $50? No thanks!
looks like fun . will diff give it a go……give the p4 another run maybe??or use the road bike…
it is the weekend after the state tt so it might be worth having a crack.
danny, the zig-zag isn’t that steep, so i would use the tt bike. there are probably about 2 spots you may need to get out of the saddle due to the grade, but overall pretty good.
fyi – this is our boy Josh Camp’s baby. good to get him some support.
…zig-zag implies a few more than two corners 😉
Sorry couldn’t resist.
ok, so you may have to get out of the saddle for the corners (and there are more than 2, i think there are 5), but i said out of the saddle due to the grade. it is flatish (for a hill) and a nice smooth surface. it wraps around the hill so you will get a head, tail, head, tailwind the whole way up.
agree with Pete…not super steep and road surface is good
so those fancy tt bikes would do the job.
last time I rode the ZZ, I met one of the organisers of the event on the way up.
might have a crack at this……
Zig Zag may not be steep but $50 is…
will have to do a recon on the tt bike i think just to be sure……, taking corners on a tt bike is never going to be the same as a road bike, as i found out on rotto!
The straight line is always the shortest route – and often the fastest …….
How about we get some people together with some shovels and rakes, have a busy-bee and cut some nice singletrack straight through that sucker??
Then ride it on a 29er hardtail …
What do you reckon Scotty ?
But it is the same day as the 6hr Enduro at Langford Park – so all the “proper” self -respecting cyclists will be there I expect.
