MTB Social ride – this Saturday

Once again PMBC will be running a social ride this Saturday (18th June) leaving from the Camel Farm at 9am. They’ll have a couple of different groups going out over a range of distances, and there will be something suitable for everyone. Each group will have 2 ride leaders to show you the trails and make sure everyone sticks together.

This is a good opportunity for the closet MTBers (Lisa, I’m calling you) to get out and have a ride in a nice relaxed group. It’s also the perfect  alternative if your a bit delicate about your road bike getting wet in this weather.

Please remember to bring something to eat, something to drink, all the relevant spares and a good attitude.

If you came on the last social ride and are not a member of the club, please bring $5 for a participation day license. However, if it’s your first time, the club will cover this cost. Juniors (U15) should bring a parent or guardian to introduce themselves to the ride leaders and provide contact information.

Please email Greg at PMBC with any questions you might have about this ride. info@perthmtb.asn.au

So don’t be a stranger, I’ll be out there as a group leader, hope to see some of you along for the ride.

  1. Well I will be in the hills at sparrows and then will be getting dirty with Forysth…. sorry I meant at Forsyth 😉

  2. I and my 11 YO daughter should be there – so if any other parent is considering, do it. A couple questions Greg has answered:

    1. Is this suitable for a child of 11 years old who has no experience riding off road?
Suitability for your 11yo will really depend on you. If they are reasonably active, adventurous, ride a bike often, and that bike is suitable for off road riding, then yes, it would be suitable. Its worth noting though that kids tend to get tired very quickly and dont really understand the need to fuel their bodies, so its good to have a parent along to make sure they eat and drink regularly.

    2. where is the Camel Farm? How far away is it from Perth?
The camel farm is here http://goo.gl/maps/8E6i about 10 mins out of Kalamunda.

3 what time is the anticipated finish time?
The ride will go for about 2 hours, we will be finished by about 11.30 all going well.
