I’ve been talking about starting a night ride for a while now. After chatting with a number of different people the consensus seems to be that Thursday evening would be the way to go.
I’ve mapped a route which I would like to do. We would basically go up Beaufort Street for a bit of exhibitionism then turn left onto Morely Drive for a fast section. I would propose a quick regroup when we hit the coast, and then proceed to cruise down the coast and back into town.
I’m proposing a 7pm depart from Dome, which would mean a 8:30pm finish.

was thinking pretty rapid on morely drive – but cruising everywhere else. mostly just a fun ride with a good section to stretch the legs in the middle.
Thursday night would be a pretty busy night on the roads, what with late night trading and all. Not sure if that’s much of an issue or not.
Looks like a good ride however Beaufort St Mt Lawley could be an issue. Parked cars taking up left lane, buses, shops, pubs. Very busy section of road…
Great idea Tob’s!!! Thursday evenings suit me fine…afterall doing the ride will mean less time spent filling up my shopping basket…a perfect savings plan really.
sounds good Toby, after putting the little one to bed im kind of free… if your revising the route let me know as i might have to pick the group up here on the coast some weeks if time is getting away from me.
Thinking now this might have to get started as a once per month thing. Last Thursday night of every month?
