SPR…truly something for everyone

How many times have we heard that one of the strengths of our club is that we have something for everyone, regardless of experience or skill level?  Normally we’re referring to the less experienced amongst us when we talk about these opportunities and exploits.  Who can fail to have noticed the write ups over the last week of last weekend’s Dam busters and UWCT warriors?  Not to mention the exploits of El Prez and Brooke Colton this weekend in the formidable Delirium and those who have ridden nutty distances in the ATTA time trials.

What some people may have not noticed is that some of our boys competed at the very highest domestic level last weekend, riding for teams in the National Road Series’ Tour de Perth.  To a man they did themselves and the club super proud…and it was great to see the boys receive support from fellow Rouleurs across the stages of this grueling 4 stage event.  Many of the boys were riding B-grade not so long ago…it just goes to show what you can do through application and hard work (not to mention some reasonable talent!).  It’s great to have riders like this in the club to inspire us!

You can find all the results here – http://nationalroadseries.subaru.com.au/results/2013-tour-de-perth/gc/.  Special congratulations to Jonno Bolton for a top 20 finish!

  1. If you watched cycling central tonight you would have spotted an SPR rider in a photo in the programme from Rotto . Anyone putting his hand up, for who it was,.
