inclusive. what does that mean for our club??? we provide training rides for all levels, we provide race opportunists for all levels, we let pretty much anyone ride with our club. but should it be much more than that??? we now have over 420 members in the club and with the greater size comes the inevitable groups within groups. it is natural for little cliques to form as friendships are often forged through a common suffering (i.e. fast group). it is important, however, to remember where we came from. no-one here rolled out of bed one day and started their riding as an ‘a’ grade racer. we all start from the bottom, wearing the wrong clothes (ask ryan about his first hills ride), forgetting to unclip at the lights, getting dropped way too early. what makes this club strong is the acceptance of these things and the kind word of encouragement that may be needed to keep someone going. a number of people have come up to me and have thanked me for giving them a push six months previously, and explained to me what a difference that has made to their mindset when it came to riding. being an inclusive club is recognising that everyone is different, but we welcome them along regardless.
ride leaders – it is in the clubs best interest to develop new riders so that they ride in a safe manner. put your name down here to ensure the club grows to its potential. with the nice weather now arrived, expect more people to be joining us. the club needs you even more to represent it in ensuring the ride etiquette is followed.
criterium race 02 – in conjunction with rccc we will be holding the secondof our 4 race series of criteriums at technology park. both ‘a’ grade and ‘b’ grade have been pre sold, but there are still positions in ‘c’ & ‘d’ grade as well as women’s ‘a’, ‘b’ & ‘c’. if you are not racing, or before and after your race, we will need a few volunteers to make the day run smoothly. put your name down on the previous post if you can help out. it would be greatly appreciated.
c grade ladies – last race we had to combine the ‘c’ grade ladies with the ‘b’ grade ladies. it was a bit fast and not the best outcome for those that wanted their own race. we need numbers to support the ‘c’ grade ladies category. check out leigh’s post and put your name down to race.
tobitech training – intending to race in the uci masters race this march??? uwct packages now available. see the previous post for more details.
ride routes – on sunday there will be no earlybird ride, but the main ride will leave at 6:00am. this allows the groups to get out and back to help out with the criterium when they get back. there are no rides scheduled on christmas day. however, if you don’t have the “burden” of kids and need to burn off the festive cheer, then feel free to meet up and go for a ride. if you want to organise something, add to the comments. boxing day we will have both the usual thursday (fast/main/main3) ride at 5:30am under the narrows, plus the public holiday ride directly afterwards (split at the carpark into fast/main1,2/main 3,trans)

A few of us are doing a casual Christmas Day ride from Coode St @0700. So if you fancy a pre-Christmas pudding ride come and join us. Ride route TBC on the day, nothing too hard.
Great idea. I will be there. Unfortunately not on a new bike as santa said I haven’t been good this year.
Yep I will be there too. See you in the morning!
There will be hills ride on Friday 27. 6.30 start from carpark, out GE Hwy to Orrong Rd. Right to the end of Welshpool, then through Pickering Brook and up Patterson, down Walnut and straight back up Lawnbrook. Refreshemnts in Kalamunda afterwards. Two of us at this stage, the more the merrier.
There will be a am group heading to the hills also. http://connect.garmin.com/course/5333053
