The SPR traveling party is now safely back in Perth after another epic road trip to Kalgoorlie for the annual Goldfields Cyclassic. Doubtless you will be hearing and reading a number of recounts of some fantastic rides over the weekend with SPR riders putting in some awesome performances, and some of them taking home serious prize money this year!
In the meantime I’d just like to give a shout out and a HUGE thank you to the hardworking volunteers who selflessly gave up their long weekend so that some of us could ride ride our bikes. Without these fantastic people we simply could not have done the weekend with the ease with which it was done.
The next time you see Shaw Goh, Brodie Brown, Cathi Dixon or Suzie Boehmer please congratulate them on doing an amazing job. It is people like these that make SPR the great club that it is!!
Yep, massive thanks to the volunteers for giving up their time to help all involved and providing great support!

Second that – the drivers did a fantastic job looking after us and our gear. And not forgetting the organization by Andrew and the race committee plus support from the club; to Graham and Anke for arranging dinner reservations; job well done by all.
the humour was cutting edge (not sure about the unidentified brown-eye in bus 1!!!) and great camaraderie all round.

And let’s not forget Nicky Hennessy. Our recovering Irish hero gave up a long weekend to follow the race and help in neutral mechanical assistance along the route – and not just SPR riders. I saw Nicky helping no less than 4 various coloured jerseys with flats along the course, all in an SPR jersey!
