It’s for non-members as well as SPR members!
Group riding is really fun, but for some of us ladies, it can seem very daunting. This SPR initiative is all about a supportive introduction to group riding that takes the ‘unknown’ out of your first group ride. This opportunity is aimed at those wishing to explore the prospect of group riding without the pressure of high traffic or high speed. It is also aimed at those wishing to enhance their group riding skills if you have just started out. We will cover basic group riding skills along with sharing helpful information. A road bike is ideal for group riding with SPR, but it’s not necessary for this session.
On Saturday, there will be 5 SPR volunteers helping you. They are only too happy to share what they know about cycling and are also compassionate, approachable and really friendly cyclists. The pathway forward with these new group skills will lead you straight into the Novice Group ride on a Saturday morning. You will be ushered through your first group ride putting into practise all that you have learned the week before.
Our session will not stray too far from the Coode Street car park. However, afterwards we will be all riding to the Dome in Westralia Plaza for a yummy buffet breakfast. The cost is $15 (cash only payable to & at the Dome). If you do wish to come along for the breakfast please let me know in advance for catering purposes. After breakfast we will ride with you back to the Coode Street car park. If you just want a coffee that is ok too, no need to rsvp.
We have had a fantastic response so far and look forward to seeing many more register for this supportive introduction to group riding.
