a relatively quiet week this week after having so much on last week. no ladies fast ride, no fixie ride and no smashfest. also, for me no week of meetings and christmas parties. as we head towards christmas, there will be more of the regulars away and we may be a little shorthanded on saturday morning. please help out where you can as even though there may be some on holidays, the warmer weather also brings out more riders.
ride leaders – support the club and help us become ambassadors for the sport in the public eye. put your name down as ride leader to ensure that the group ride is safe and organised. sign up here.
ride leaders sponsorship – this months ride leaders are proudly sponsored by Allused, Commercial Equipment. please see the previous post detailing what they provide and we thank them for encouraging our members to step up as ride leaders. ride leaders will receive a $10 Dome voucher to be used after the saturday ride. if you have a business that you want to promote to our members, check out the previous post to both promote your business and help out the club.
thursday night crit training – this thursday we continue our night time crit training in canning vale. as long as it is not raining, check out the previous post and head on down. there may be some adjustments in the future, check out the update post.
new 2015 spr cycle kit – just released. new design and new manufacturer. there is an opportunity to try the sizing kit before you order. please be aware that we need to return this sizing kit to the manufacturer, so any damaged goods will need to be paid for by the club. see the previous post for more details.
out of lycra event – the next out of lycra event is on thursday the 18th december at empire bar in rivervale. this is an opportunity to catch-up with other club members, but in a setting where you don’t have to try to hold their wheel. see the previous post for more details.
yanchep beach criterium – the week after smashfest finishes, if you are still up for some racing, head north and check out the yanchep beach criterium that northern beaches are running. the northern beaches club does a lot at the smashfest criteriums to ensure that the junior races are run well, so we really need to return the favour and support their race. more details on the previous post or register here. entries close midnight tonight.

Major roadworks warning for this ride!
Bannister rd between Willeri Drv and the Canning Vale markets had been ripped up and is in the process of being re-sealed. The re-sealing is earmarked for tomorrow and Saturday nights so be prepared for up to 1.5 km of rough riding.
Saturday Fast & Main Groups route? Options?
Possibly do a right turn into High rd from ?Willeri at Riveton Leisureplex, then a left into Vahland ave. Continue down Vahland until South and turn left into South st. We can then rejoin the route at the South/Bannister intersection
If the groups are biggish, doing a right turn at the High Rd lights might be an issue. We could go straight down Wilier Drive as usual and then use the sweeping roundabout before the Roe Hway overpass (Collins Rd) to take us through to Vahland (left turn) and then on to South St and back on course.
