I am little pressed for time this week so I will be brief. After some clear skies for a few days, the weather looks a little dubious for the weekend and next week.
Take the photo above as encouragement that spring and summer are coming. This photo was my Tour of Margaret River team training in just a few weeks this time last year.
For those attending the SPR TOMR Social tonight, enjoy.
La Vuelta inspired Family Day — Don’t forget that the club has our family day coming up on 4 September (this weekend). This is an opportunity which we don’t very often for everyone from the club to catch up informally, out of lycra, and in a setting that allows families to participate in the safe and casual environment at Como Bowling Club.
The theme, La Vuelta inspired, is Spanish cusine including a Chicken and Spanish chorizo paella and Spanish Churros. Drinks can be purchased from the Bowling Club. The Bowling Club has excellent facilities including indoor cover if the weather turns against us.
We’ve aimed to keep ticket prices reasonable – in fact, this event is subsidised by the Club as we think that it represents an excellent opportunity to bring everyone in the club together.
Tickets available in the SPR shop here.

From the Ride Coordinator — And the rain goes on. Not great for those training for TOMR – and there are many of us in that boat. Some teams are doing a second river loop after the main Saturday ride to practice their Team Time Trial skills and build strength. We don’t recommend this in wet weather, or on busy roads, but it can be difficult to get teams together with the busy schedules we all have, and most of us are there on Saturday (when the sun is shining). I’ve added a Zwift ride this Saturday for those who prefer the low water-risk option. Sunday looks much better, and we’re back to Brookton. Whichever rides you choose, enjoy and stay safe.
