Ride Routes 10 – 16th September

We are very pleased to announce that entries are open to SPR’s Jarrahdale Team Time Trial for 2022.

It is perfectly placed as preparation for the Tour of Margaret River, and will run in Shire of Jarrahdale on the same challenging 30km course as last year. The course is undulating and includes a total of 440m of climbing — designed to provide riders with a very similar experience to Day 1 at the Tour of Margaret River.

The time trial is open to teams of 6 riders (minimum of 4 ) with the team time taken from the 4th rider crossing the finish line. Teams will be released on regular intervals of between 1 and 2 minutes depending on number of teams entered.

La Vuelta inspired Family Day — Thank you to everyone that came along Sunday for our family day. The food was exceptional, the company delightful and even the weather had the good grace to behave.

A special thank you to Carol for organising, and to Mandy for coordinating on the day (Carol being overseas and all!).

Amy’s is this weekend! Sending love and best wishes to SPR members who are heading across to ride in Amy’s.

A big shoutout to Nancy, David, Belinda and Stuart! 💪🏻💚

From the Ride Coordinator — Fingers crossed the forecast stays on track, finally giving us fine riding weather for both Saturday and Sunday. Respect to the one and only person who pitched up for the ride last Saturday!

Despite the good weather this weekend, the roads may still be a bit slippery, with plenty of debris around.  I’m expecting a lot more riders out, so take care at roundabouts and on white lines, and remember to call out any hazards, and pass the message back in the groups. As nobody rode last week, we’ve got Holmes Rd again on Saturday. Take extra care near the start when turning right from Canning Hwy into Shepperton Rd. Communicate clearly when it’s safe to move across, and then move across together.

Sunday’s long riders will experience the joy of climbing the F’berg, a great route with a couple of steep gradients, which we don’t do often.

Enjoy the sunshine. 🙂
