SPR Juniors

Juniors Ride — For this upcoming Saturday, we have planned a session focusing on racing tactics and strategies for the more advanced juniors. We’ll be practicing along Riverton Drive in Shelley.

For our younger riders and newcomers, we’ll be running a skills session along this course: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/328282383. We’ll repeat this a few times, focusing on rolling and taking turns etc.

We will meet at the usual spot in Shelley (https://maps.app.goo.gl/xjCWxTHdJn6R2BGU8) at 10:30 AM.

From the Ride Coordinator — We have a long weekend coming up, so there are opportunities for extra KMs.

It is important to consider whether your actions(e.g. no hands) could jeopardise the group and refrain from those activities. It only takes a split second to cause an event that results in a prolonged break for one or more riders.

Communication is the key to a safe and successful group ride. When you are the rider at the front, you must call out all hazards(e.g. parked car, potholes) and indicate route directions, and following riders must pass it back down the group. Calls from the back of the group must also be passed to the front of the group. Remember that it can be even more difficult to hear in windy conditions.
