Folks – came across a very nasty accident on kwinana freeway bike path
this morning. not sure exactly what happened but the scene was cyclist
looking very poorly on a stretcher, ambulances, and very large fallen tree
across the cycle path before day break, following the storm last night.
Poor chap – i hope it’s no more than his week ruined, but it did look bad.

Some things bugging me lately on my daily commute and this one tipped to the
    point of speaking up.

Following a storm, esp if riding before daybreak, expect hazards, and
at any time don’t ride quicker than your vision can confirm a safe path.
    Even if conditions have calmed.

Another three: riding in dark on shared paths, esp with traffic headlights oncoming and
Perth’s Ninja Walkers lurking. they are very hard to spot as they are dressed in black,
and esp so from veiling glare of oncoming freeway cars, and more commonly – cyclists with new
Ay-Up LED lights directed up into one’s retina. Strava efforts compound the above.

One last thing – if you come across a hell bad hazard please don’t just think that
was close and keep rolling. get off and hang around to warn others, call main roads,
or clear it yourself if possible.

build wattage, safely. back to the TT.
