All, I was sent this from one of my Melbourne cycling friends. If you’re looking for a worthy cause to sponsor (and can get over the envy of their trip), please consider supporting them:

    All

Just because you have escaped Melbourne doesn’t man I wont try to collar you!

In September of this year, three of us (Paul, Steve and myself) will be cycling the coast road from Sydney to Melbourne in an effort to raise more than $10,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). We’ll be doing this to recognise Pauls’sister-in-law, Angie, who is currently battling Stage 4 – or secondary – Breast Cancer. Angie is something of an inspiration; life has thrown her a few curve balls and, so far, she has hit back each and every one of them with a strength and determination that we cannot help but admire. We’re hopeful she’ll do the same again this time.

Our team will be leaving Sydney on Sunday 8 September and will be cycling an average of 200km a day for six consecutive days with the aim of reaching Melbourne’s Federation Square on Friday 13 September. By the end of our journey, we’ll have cycled 1,200km and, for the cycling enthusiasts among you, climbed some 16,000 vertical metres.

Of course, the ride is only half of it. We’re aiming to raise money for a terrific cause and to do that, we would appreciate your help. We’ve set up a website http://www.cycleforcause.com.au where you can support our effort by making an online donation. Please do not feel pressured into contributing as we know that you probably get hit up regularly for donations. We are appreciative of any size donation – big or small they all go towards helping us reach our goal. For those in some of the larger organisations which have Matched Giving, that would further help us leverage funds raised for the cause.

You can also read about the ride, read about our team and read about some of the great work the NBCF is doing. Most importantly, you can read Angie’s Story and get a better understanding of why we are embarking on this ride.

Please, take a moment to visit http://www.cycleforcause.com.au and support our team!

    Thanks
    Allan
