And you’re most welcome, Alistair (as are others who aren’t racing at the end of March).
An 8km circuit, although repetitive (read ‘boring’), has the advantage of people being able to turn it into whatever sort of training session they need (very hard, hard or solid/medium). The left hand turns and no traffic lights usually make for a less stop-start ride than usual Saturday fast/main rides (if West Coast Hway isn’t busy at the corner).
Anyone can sit out a lap if they need to, and there are usually a range of abilities to form partnerships with when things start to split up as people get tired or puffed. No long lonely rides back to base if you have a bad day.
Everyone regroups under the trees in Perry Lakes Drive around 8:00 for a gentle warm-down back to town.
