A few of us are planning on making the Trek (sic) out to Joondalup Pines Outdoor Cinema this Sunday to watch the new documentary “The Lance Armstrong Lie – The rise and fall of a cultural icon and one of the biggest scandals in the history of sport” by Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Alex Gibney, who not only delivers an absorbing account of Armstrong’s vehement denial and subsequent guilt – illustrated with unrivalled access to colleagues, cycling officials and the athlete himself – but also a layered exploration of competition and the culture of celebrity and power.

Notwithstanding that some of you may well feel like you’ve had your fill of Lance Armstrong, it promises to be an interesting evening & at this stage at least, the weather is looking good.

Gates open at 6:00pm and the screening starts at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door for $16.50 however if enough people respond here on the blog by Friday I am happy to buy books of tix which will mean it is only $15 each. BYO and bring a picnic dinner or you can buy pizzas at the venue.
