For anyone interested.

I rode the pines a couple of times on the weekend.

It seems the MRORCA have marked out a loop (either that or they had a race and didn’t remove the markings). I basically started at the top of big pine and followed the loop around. It takes in most of the cape 2 cape course through there. We got off the loop at long macchiato and then rode out through the fire trails to Burnside road and followed the single track back to the pines where we picked up the loop again. For those that did the cape 2 cape, it is the section after the pines with the two river crossings, the short road section and then back on the single track up to the water cart. There were quite a few trees and branches down on that section along the fire trails. But the faster flowing single track was pretty much clear. This back section is not marked though.

Seems they have made a few improvements to the Pines since I was down there in March. But I must say it was the most enjoyable riding I have had down there. I think in total we saw maybe 6 people, and with a loop now defined, you only need to concentrate on riding. None of this stopping all the time trying to work out which way to go.

It has me excited about the cape to cape, only 100 days 1 hour and 28 minutes
