Thanks mate for the tips and the link, have to admit that yes you’re right I felt just because I have the tools now I can do it simply hahahaha. First time it nearly gave me a heart attack when few bits and pieces fell apart from it as I wasn’t sure what goes where
Last night I was pretty confident what I’m doing, I had the towel and the tray to capture everything and from the first experience I knew the order of the bits. But still couldn’t remove the free wheel, it’s stuck and doesn’t want to come off no matter how hard I try, after removing the spacer, fig 4 referring to the link, stage 5 is to simply pulling out the free wheel!!! surely there is a mechanical lock somewhere that doesn’t let this happening.
When I felt there is no way I can get it out I sprayed the WD40 into it to dissolve the dirt out of it, wasn’t sure if I’m doing the right thing though, couldn’t believe how much dirt came off but really wished I could de-attach it and wipe it clean thoroughly as I can still hear the squeaking sound of sand or something. Wasn’t sure if I have to relube it again or not but lastly decided to drop some oil in it just in case, overall I’m not happy with the final result as it seems the wheel was rolling much smoother before I touch it and after all the effort, greasing etc
What’s your thoughts?
Cheers, Niv
