Fund Raising for Jonno’s Nationals Campaign

Tomorrow morning before the start of the ride we will be raising money for Jonothan Bolton who is going over to Ballarat to compete in the National Road and Criterium Championships.  Jonny recently won the much coveted ‘Most Improved SPR Rider’ award and is looking forward to taking his form with him over to the races.

Alison has managed to organise a voucher and some very cool socks from Champion Systems and Dome Westralia Plaza has thrown 3 x $20 vouchers into the pot- so come prepared with a few bucks in your jersey pocket – you might win a prize while supporting a very speedy young guy!

October Night Ride – Light Em Up Challenge!

The next night ride is going to be one week later than usual – on the 24th of October.

To make this one more interesting DOME is offering a $20 voucher for the rider who comes out with the most sparkly/glowing/shining best lit bike & kit on the night.

The route has been tweaked again to cut out a hill (Lennie’s request) and to make it a bit shorter (Dome’s request).

A Message From Dome

Hi guys!

Spring is definitely upon us and the numbers of cyclists arriving at the cafe on Saturday morning is increasing just like the temperature.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am currently working on acquiring some new granite tables for our al fresco area to increase seating capacity for summer.

We also have some bike racks on the way that will enable you to rack your bikes when you come in for a coffee. Hurrah!

Most of you don’t know this – but getting approval for having cyclists come to the cafe as been a huge drama. It’s taken me ten months of negotiation with our building management to come to a arrangement that we are both happy with.

The good news is cyclists on Saturday mornings have the green light! All we ask is that you look after the building and your bikes when you are in the area, and when the racks arrive please use them.

Thanks again to you all for supporting the cafe. We all certainly love having you here – and the more the merrier!

If any of you have any questions about the cycling – coffee relationship, want to use the place for a function, or want your coffee remade because we didn’t get it right – please don’t hesitate to ask me. I’m the one guy wandering around behind the bar in lycra, or chewing stem in Main 1.

Wednesday Night Ride

This Wednesday brings the next installment of the SPR Wednesday Night Ride!

Depart: Dome Westralia Plaza at 7pm

Duration: 1.25 hours

Dinner: Yes – at Le Dome after.

Lights on or no ride.

Also – this week can everyone put on their GoPros and Contour cameras – I’m keen to stitch together as much video as possible.

Wednesday Night ride

This Wednesday is our monthly night. We meet at 7pm at Dome Westralia Plaza.
The ride is social, we stick together, and usually have a bite to eat afterwards.

All welcome.
