After the sunday hills ride today, I sat at a table with a group of riders at some cafe in south Perth. Amongst the discussion topics was the Goldfields Cyclassic. Having already resigned myself to not being able to go due to the substantial costs regarding the registration process along with needing to purchase a bike box for transportation, the cost was mounting up to around a grand for my father and I to go. However, as I was listening, I became suddenly very interested when someone, forgive me – I forget exactly who, mentioned that those from south perth that were participating, had decided to hire two minibuses or something and a trailer for the bikes to go in. Can anybody please explain to me this plan in more detail.
E.g. – how many people can go on the bus
– how do we organize accommodation (and if we are bunking in similar rooms, I overheard talk of dorms or something similar, how does that work in terms of payment)
– other logistics such as; time of arrival, departure, location etc…
