    Cycle Italian Style!

One of the most enjoyable aspects of cycling is having friends to share the ride. This year we were lucky enough to ride in five beautiful locations in Italy, but we missed our friends. We […]

A cycling holiday is a self-focussed endeavour at the best of times. In July this year Jeremy and I set out to test the theory that it could also be a family holiday with three weeks cycling across five di […]

    • Great write up & spectacular pics, Jeremy, thanks for sharing this. Have had to add a few more ‘must do’s’ to the list after reading your story!
Particularly impressed by your ability to go on a ‘family holiday’ that seems to include a heck of a lot of cycling, includes 8 hour days on the bike!!

      • Thanks Jim, glad you enjoyed the read.

I am fortunate to have a cycling wife so we alternated our rides and got to spend time with the kids on our non-riding days. Plus with daylight savings there was plenty of time post ride to kick back with an Aperol Spritz and enjoy the evening with the family!

    • Great stuff, Jeremy & Leigh.
Very impressed by your ability to combine family time & cycling. Chapeau to you all!

So a couple of weeks ago I found myself lining up at the start line for the 102km Collie to Donnybrook Classic, a handicapped race. I was in the second group on the road, +8 minutes from the lead group, and a bit […]

    • I feel like I should do a first race report too. But perhaps after this weekend I could do a second race report and first race finished report?

    • Excellent write up Sarah!! What a great event in which to get your first taste of the ‘fun’ of racing!! 🙂

  • A heart felt thank you must go the consistent support of our beginner level group leaders. Without you, myself and many others wouldn’t be enjoying the solid foundation you provide at such an important and impressionable time for us starting out.

I’d like to extend a big giant thank you to Tom Barratt for presenting a very enlightening Race Info evening for our members. In the short time I was there I had a couple ‘wow’ moments where the penny dropped. […]

    • Thanks Tom and the other ‘guys on the couch’!.
It was great to hear you blokes talk about your fears and doubts when doing something new/different ie racing, as most women also have these barriers to overcome. The tips on the power of a positive mindset, when to attack, and how to take abuse were also great.
My big take out was we never lose by having a go at racing we either ‘win’ or we ‘learn’. Just off to purchase some Turkish Delight.

    • Did anyone take any notes from the night or record it. I couldn’t be there but would love to get a copy of anything anyone wrote down.

  • ps. Love that pic of Julian!
