Still cant get the bastard to upload a file like a saturday ride. garmin want me to factory reset, which i have done and it still wont upload. just send it back to us for at least 3 weeks and we will have a look. if i do this this will be the third 510 i have swapped out. i am tempted to post garmin gps are buggy junk but……

Is anyone else having a problem with their garmin not syncing? I recently uploaded the new software update and surprise surprise I cant download or upload anything, just keeping getting an error message or time out. I have changed the time zones, anyone have any ideas?

is anyone else having problems getting the link to download the ride route to their garmin. I have not been able to see the link for a few weeks now.

I am not sure if you have considered this or not but where West Coast Masters race their crits in Kewdale / Belmont is also really good after hours. Lots of parking and quiet after working hours (not good for mornings thought).

If like me you don’t have a race license and are racing in the ToMR or want to start racing in anycase, you can purchase a 2015 license from Cycling Australia now and it will cover you until the end of 2015 (so 15 months for the price of 12). FYI

Thanks to those who stopped to help me with my flat tires on Saturday morning. Unfortunately the tire had hit something very sharp and had torn. In the wet the tear was virtually invisible so it took a detailed examination (while I waited for a lift home) to find the problem, unfortunately no $5 notes and no more spare tubes :o(. My garmin 510 keeps getting corrupted files or says that it does not recognize .fit file although it will download them normally. It seems to happen every time I go hill riding, does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know what the fix is.
I have tried a few free downloads that say they repair files but they don’t seem to help.

I have done this event a few times and after watching 6 crashes last year on some flat straight roads I decided to give this year a miss.
My advice is, be very careful who you follow or ride near and don’t draft anyone you don’t know. A lot of groups have a bit of ego, have watch the tour de france on the TV a few times so try to ride like that.…[Read more]
