My understanding is there is NO coverage included with Cycling Australia membership for your equipment. They cover personal injury and liability. I’ve insured my TCR with cyclingaustraliainsurance.com.au which is a CA branded Velosure policy. It costs me ~$25p/m for $3k’s coverage.

Try to stay in the front third of the peloton, this minimises your chance of getting into trouble from either a) bad handling riders or b) getting blocked out When it comes to the finish. Unfortunately I no longer have a spare, I will say Shimano R501s go for about $90-110 for the rear in store about Perth and are pretty solid. Put 5000km or so on one and only had to make two minor spoke tweaks (I weigh 83kg now, started at about 95 and have been riding 30 kmh+ averages).
