Cyclo Sportif this Sunday 19th Sept at Waroona

Well we have had a few more that have expressed interest in coming down to Waroona for the Cyclo Sportif.  We have enough for one team at the moment with 8 people registering interest. I am willing to pay for the team as a whole as long as I get payment from you before race day.  I have the following names for the SPR 1 team (I haven”t registered this yet). Online rego closes on Tuesday 14th. There is NO option to register on the day. Everyone online slots has opted for the 79km.

Shane

Jen

Anna (who has volunteered to do the first 10km on the front for us)

John G

David T

Jamie

Myself

and Jordan.

Both Jamie and I are looking for a lift down and if anyone needs or can spare a jersey, leave a comment (I need an XL please).

Payment is $65 for non members of Bicycling WA and $50 for Members.  Please confirm in the Comments that you are right to go and happy to “show me the Money!” by the weekend.

The event starts at a respectable 9.30am so we would aim to meet there at about 8.30 for the registration and pre ride bike check, tyre kicking pump up, kit change and warm up.  Looks to be a good course, so will see you all down there.

  1. All systems go: Email me your bank details and I’ll transfer the cash monies.

I can also give Jamie or you a lift. I’m in Wembley, so whoever is closest will suit me best 🙂

  2. Anna and I need a jersey. Smalls or mediums.
No space in the car unfortunately. Looking forward to a scenic hill ride of pain!

  3. I am good to go and I’ll shoot you an email re: bank details.
I also could take someone down, I am just north of the city in Inglewood.
Sorry I don’t have any spare SPR kit. How will you get the word out that you need these?

  4. Jorgy- I have just dropped to a 50/50 chance to make it due to a family commitment ( I forgot about). Still a chance….just trying to wangle something and should know for certain around lunchtime today. What time are you registering the team and I will make sure I post a definite yes/no in time.

  5. Shane, I’ll wait for your comment before registering. By midday if possible. If I don’t see anything by 3pm I’ll assume you are out and CANNOT make it. No probs if you can’t.

Everyone else, please send me an email and I will forward my bank account details
Have payments from Jen, Anna, Jordan, and an email from Dave T.

  6. All good to go. Have registered the Team as SPR1. 7 of us going down.

Jordan is picking me up at 7am to get down there by 8.30. Team check in starts at 8am, with Team Leader brief at 8.45.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

  7. Unfortunately there is no Broad team this time around so I took the opportunity to get a ‘Fast SPR’ team registered for the event…

We have some fairly fit SPR takers and one ring in.. 😉 I think we should do pretty well in the hills…

    SPR Fast consists of:

    Jerard G, James F, David H, Jason C, Chris A, Danny B, Ashley J, Johny K and Myself…

    In Julian Ceasar’s words:

“It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.”

I am hoping we are all patient on Sunday…

  8. We are apparently. We have the last start time of 9.55 (5 minutes AFTER the SPR Fast group). So looks like we might be late for lunch at 12 unless Anna can pull us all up that first hill…:P

We still need to be there at about 8.30 as there is a team leader breif at 8.45.

I guess we cannot rely on the Fast Group to help us along the way, but you never know, we might pass a few groups.

  9. Last time slot! Maybe we should have named our team “SPR Slow”.
No better incentive to cycle faster than to make sure we get back before Danny Boi eats all the food.

  10. Hmm, Plan B Racers are only 19 and 1/2 minutes ahead of the ‘Fast’ team, we should be able to real them in 😉 And CRT 1 is 4 minutes behind us, if they catch us up, we will have to hang our heads in shame…

Hopefully when SPR 1 comes past us, we can latch on to their train 🙂

  11. Oh the Mirth. I was going to ask if we could swap spots in the starting list so we had a chance of getting back not too long after you.

I think the only way we will pass you is if we turn around at the B marker. Oh well. Save us some food FF.

  12. Ohh the day just gets better! This is said with great sarcasm.

Good job we’ve got Jordan Fancy Fast Pants in the team who went training with the Fast Group this morning!
