FURTHER UPDATE SAT 4TH SEPT:
Due to an overwhelming lack
of enthusiasm (you know who you are) for Forsyth’s Mill the venue
has been changed (AGAIN!). Sorry for the messing about guys.
We will be meeting at 1pm at the Dell off Mundaring Weir Rd.
Any questions give me a ring.

Due to the recent surging interest in MTB within SPR (no bias here whatsoever) there will be a group of us heading down to Jarrahdale this Sunday 5/9. As it is Father’s Day it will be a later start so that sleep-ins and obligatory paternal love and appreciation can be dished out beforehand 😉

This is not
a structured skills session but just an informal training ride where you’ll get to have some fun and practice your skills in the beautiful forest trails in Langford Park. It is aimed at ANY skill level from absolute beginners with all the gear and no idea (yep… that would=ME!) to regular riders and those of you with a MTB tucked away at the back of the shed that hasn’t seen the light if day for a while!
EVERYONE welcome 🙂
Meet at 1pm at the Dell (off Mundaring Weir Rd)

I’ll be there. Also, happy to lead a group if required. I know J.Dale pretty well.
Extra brownies for you then Mark 😉
Tempting, but I can’t make it coz:
– its FD, and hope to see some of the family (ie offspring)
– don’t wanna bust anything, right now, coz
– am headed back to East Timor on Wednesday, to try another lap of the place
– other family commitments over the weekend
But have fun 🙂

Be gentle…looking forward to taking the new bike out for a spin…and no crashes…maybe
make sure you check your seat bolts chris…
I will try to make this, depending on how my body recovers and fathers day commitments.
Just a note – Avanti Plus Cannington will also be down there on this day doing their Cape to Cape skills course.
Will be checking my seat bolts…AND MY SHOES…stay tuned…all may be revealed…or just ask me…
Great time to get the cobwebs off the mtb. I’ll try and drag the family along for a picnic as well.
Grrr I have the TT on in the morning- maybe I can get there…
If anyone is looking to get into Mountain biking and wants a cheap option to start I am looking to upgrade. Therefore I have a Giant XTC 1 hard tail MTB that I am looking to sell. It was $2500 new and has XT components, Reba forks and a new drive chain, tyres and Yas service. Not sure what to sell for but open to offers.
If nobody buys it I will come down to J-dale.
Since its Fathers Day…
Any other Dads interested in organising a Kids ride down there as well ? Maybe find a trail that is ‘off road’ but suitable for younger kids to make it more family oriented than a training ride. Maybe a few kms but nothing too difficult.
My boy is 6.5 years old.. and its time for a “Man vs. Wild” adventure.
@Andrew – I hear the Goat Farm is good for a ‘rites of passage’ experience.. 😉
Michael, I’m going to take him to the Mt Gunjin downhill and single track once I get a video camera setup and chase his 16″ wheel bike down the hill 🙂
How scared will he be ? Shit scared.
Theres a little single track loop next to the car park that has been used for the U13 race its not very long or technical.
Can anyone elaborate on the facilities at Forsyth Mills, Chidlow? Is there bbq / picnic / toilets etc? As I had intended to bring the whole family and kids (7yo & 10yo) with their MTBs.
Sorry Shaw, from memory I think Forsyth’s is pretty basic and has none of the above 🙁
Chidlow township is very close by though.
