i have been getting a few emails lately from people in regards to memberships.  currently, if you use the online facility there is no wa option to select when you are asked which state you are from.  this is being rectified and the new cost structure has been forwarded to cycling australia.  however, if you remember the last time and the time before that, it does take them a bit of time to get themselves sorted.

the online system will be up and running so if you can wait for it to join or renew, then not a problem.  however, if you really need to get a membership now (so you can race) then there is a work around.

attached here is the membership form for 2011.  all you do is manually fill it out and take your payment to the cycling wa offices – 180 charles street, west perth.  the form is pretty straight forward but just remember that the club is south perth cycle club (not spr).  you don’t have to worry about getting a club official to sign the form as the office staff at cycling wa can take care of that for you.  they can accept credit card, cash or cheque but if you have any problems, give them a call (08) 9328 3422.

the basic fee structure is as follows –

• elite & u23 racing licence – $258
• junior u19 – $190
• masters (30 – 64)  -$190
• senior (+19) recreational – $86
• junior (13 – 18) recreational – $54

most of this money goes to cycling australia and cycling wa but a small club fee comes to us.  there are some other categories so if you fit in somewhere else, let me know and i can tell you how much.  if you join any of these categories, then when you get your card, you are eligible for the members benefits which give you great discounts at certain shops in perth.

remember that if you join or renew now, your licence is valid for all of 2011.
