For those who haven”t committed yet… Latest Road Race News from BWA:
The Perth event IS NOT a grand fondo style event, but will be age categories starts. Once entries have closed, we will announce the age category starts. You MUST race with your age group, ie if a ‘pack’ passes you, YOU CANNOT jump into their pack!
UCI have now agreed to allow Masters in the 50-59 year category and Over 60s to complete a shorter distance in the road best online casino race through the Perth CBD and Kings Park. Please see details below:
Open to 49 years – total distance 112 km (8 laps)
50-59 years – total distance 81.5km (6 laps)
Good stuff, you old guys can race Mike (and Stooge) 😉
…….sorry couldn’t resist
Registrations close on Monday 4 April.
The other thing for those that are competing. Is there any interest in organising a SPR feeding Station in the Feed Zone on Thomas Rd. They have indicated that this is where it will be. We could all chip in some money and get some generic Drink Bottles that can be handed out to our Club riders as they go past.
Any takers. I am happy to organise some Drink Bottles if enough people want to do this.
Jorgy,
Count me in for the “Feed Station”.
Am also happy to help out here. I will also accept money to yell out disparaging comments about other competitors.
Feed station on Thomas Rd? That’s dumb. It’s really hard to grab a bottle at 60km/hr!
Maybe this is why a Sportive group shouldn’t organise a bike race.
….umm agreed.
Don’t worry too much Toby, I’ll break out (/invent) the old “SPR Drink Bottle Slingshot” (patent pending) especially for the job. Also, i tend to think we should hire a truck-load of gym mats for the inevitable carnage which shall ensue!
I do distinctly remember racing through feed zones at 50+km/hr on prior occasions, which was a world of fun at the time!
