this saturday the south west club (in conjunction with atta) will be holding the state individual time trial championships. held on the same course as the past few years there is are categories for open, masters, and juniors (although i don’t think the juniors will be a state title).
this gives a couple of opportunities to our members. firstly there will be a masters men and women’s for those that are over 35 and don’t want to compete against the young-uns. secondly this is a great chance to lay down some bragging rights to show who actually is the better rider. even better, day licences are available but you just don’t qualify for the championships. however, this lets you see how you stack up against a number of riders of varying abilities.

I’ll be doing the ‘old diggers’ charge too…
Bugger- I’m working, well on a training course anyway 🙁
It’s been a few years since I have done this one. I will give the Masters a bash.
Can anyone advise on the driving time to Dardanup from Perth CBD via the Freeway and Forrest Highway?
1 hr 35 min from como to shell roadhouse, then another 10-15 min to dardy
I’ll be there sporting my yet un used spr skin suit!
i am sure that you were wearing it the night we did the kit distribution.
Looks like I had my days mixed up- training course is next week- so I’ll be there 🙂
Is anybody staying down saturday night? Just trying to sort my sunday morning ride options! And maybe the famed River Road is on the cards…
why not!!!
hmm, road bike is out of action (getting cranks replaced for second time). Maybe a sign I should jump back on the tt bike. It should be fresh as last outing was the state team tt.. What distance do the old boys have to go?
Hey Bill, take your mtn bike with you as Pile Road is verrrrry close!
Good luck guys n gals!
I claim bragging rights in the old diggers cat, by a massive 2.5 seconds over Jason, I’m only claiming coz I know he doesn’t mind (smirk smirk). well done to Jonno who scored a good 3rd in Open, beaten by some proven tough TT riders. Well done too to the girls who just about had the race and podium to themselves. Good to see the SPR jerseys on the podium. Next year, hopefully we’ll see even more at this well run and pleasant event. My legs are sore 🙁
Very well done to all concerned. Great to see SPR so well represented at the pointy end of so many categories, especially the one that matters (Masters). Not surprised that Stu bounced back from Thursday’s fall to out-dog Jason thanks to his experienced and wily ways.
