TdF commentary ‘pearlers’

I’m sure there are many clangers and pearlers that the various TdF commentators have made, but I love last night’s
“Mick Rogers has got a puncture, it’s either the front wheel or the rear…”

  1. i had to laugh, phil leggit actually mentioned during his commentary on a recent stage just how much he dislikes the noise of the cow bells!!! pffffffft, how else is a spectator supposed to deliver the appropriate level of support?? bless his cottons ..

  2. Here are some more.

“A Canadian defending his title” – When talking about Evans

“That’s not a great time for him” Then after being corrected by Paul “Oh well then that’s a great time by him”

“Frank Schleck should put in a good TT”

“That’s van Gerdern Slipping off” It was Taaramae in the Young riders jersey.

“the gradient is 14% increasing to 11%”

  3. Was it last night that i heard Phil say “Mark Cavendish has ridden to the back of the peleton” ? Well not unless you had turned around a ridden the other way to get there would that be possible. Me thinks he got spat out the back of the bunch?
