wednesday uci and tuesday spin

SPR UCI Team 2012

it’s october and you now have about 6 months to train up for the uci road race in kings park.  as such the wednesday morning ride will now change from ciao to uci.  the sun is getting up earlier so the pitch black, unlit roads within kings park are a bit easier to navigate through.  we will meet at 5:30am under the narrows on the city side and aim for three laps of the circuit.  the first lap will be a warm-up lap (so no attacking on the climbs), the second lap (from the mounts bay road roundabout onwards) is a free for all, and the third lap is whatever you have left.  start your training early, so by the time april comes around, you will be well prepared (or totally hate the course).

just a reminder that tuesday night under the narrows on the south perth side is spin.  meet at 6:30pm and bring your bike and stationary trainer.  toby will take you through an hour of pain with a number of laughs dispersed throughout.

The Finals of the UCI World Cycling Tour for the next 2 years were awarded during the latest UCI Management Committee meeting in Valkenburg-Holland.

In 2013, the World Championships will take place in Trento – Italy during the weekend of 19-22 september 2013. The organizers plan to have a new and flat 20-30km long time trial course near the city. The road races are based on the qualifier event “La leggendaria Charly Gaul” that already took place in July this year. Finish will be on top of the famous Monte Bondone just outside Trento after a 20k climb.

The good news for travellers from overseas, is that these World Championships for masters and amateurs are being held only one week before the Elite World Championships in Firenze, just 300km further.

    1. Thanks, Ben, for posting these – ouch – brings back the memories of the pain….
It took me a while to find the rest of the clips from your link. Until I realised that clicking on your name down the bottom got me more, I watched the 6 sec of Jerry crossing the line in the TT about 20 times. Maybe it is the iPad version, maybe it is just me and technology? No disrepect, Jerry, you did finish stongly, but……
Thanks again, Ben & Luke, for getting out & supporting us on that corner, a very welcome sight

      1. I just watched you and I Jim go through that corner, that was hard. Agree that Luke and Ben were fantastic, thanks guys.
