I have already let Peter know I’m putting my hand out to help out with supporting this event this year. As most know it will not be around King Park like in years past it is out at Perry Lakes.
I will be picking up the tents from Peters place on Friday night (Hopefully it all fits in Rhians car). However on the day will need a couple of other helpers for setting up the tents.
Anyone else who is free to help setup and yell and scream like in years past either leave your name in the comments or SMS me on 0412 850 501.
Thanks for initiating this, Nathan. Lots of SPR riders have been preparing for this for quite some time and it would be great to see as many familiar faces and SPR tops as possible cheering (or cow belling) our riders on – especially on the ‘slopes’ of Oceanic Drive. It could be pivotal to a big club presence at the World Masters road titles in Italy in September.
Lennie’s gutted she’s not in the country and won’t get to bring the cow bells along !
unfortunately a few of us are doing the 3/ 5 dams. i am there in spirit though
yeah I realise there is a lot on the same day. club can not be everywhere though.
Good luck to everyone racing in the UCI TT on Friday and the RR on Sunday.
I will be in Rockingham doing a triathlon. Traitor!

^^^ Order some green SPR cowbells. ^^^ π
The UCI road race start lists are up on the UWCT Perth website – under the Start Group and Times tab. Looks like it will be McMurdo v Miller in the over 50s (one amongst many good matchups on the day).
I will pack my crocs and come help out after I get my puncture.. π
Im happy to help out what time do you want us to be there???
Still waiting for exactly where they want us to be. @mike is the only one who has put somewhere forward.
The tents will probably need to be near the Start/Finish line along Perry Lakes Drive, which is nearer the Oceanic Drive end (there will probably be a designated area). The feed zone is just around the corner on Oceanic Drive. This will be a good place to watch, but the slightly steeper section further up Oceanic will be better for attacks/action/riders being dropped/painful expressions on faces etc.
Hope there is some chalk on the road this year too – always uplifting to see.
@mike, you go chalk our names on Greenmount Hill for the 5 dams, and we’ll do yours on Oceanic.
@jordan –
a) Cheeky chalk comment obviously not directed at those busy riding this weekend.
b) Would you see it going up Greenmount that fast?
c) 5/3 Dams is not a race.
Just make sure @julian is aware it’s not a race!
Good luck!
What!!. How can I improve my Canning Dam time with that mentality.
i am guessing that because of the “village” setup this year, most of perry lakes will be a no-go area. i would setup near the feedzone, so people can help with bottles as well as support.
I guess I am going to have to get there for about 6am on sunday and Find out what space is left and where we can setup. So anyone that is going to come along and help go to around the start finish line. If you can’t find me call me on 0412 850 501
I tried contacting organisers but no one has got back. Maybe too busy now with TDP now being under way.
Thank you helper team. Your support and presence was very welcome and greatly appreciated.
+1 – great effort, team, much appreciated.
Well done to all the riders too.
