SPR Thursday Ride
Warning: Roadworks on Preston Point Road
Perth’s most fun bit of road after they put the chicanes in while back are now more fun than ever !
Beware of the roundabout under construction as you get to Pier Street !
Very loose gravel – a couple of people went off today.. get the speeds well down to under 30km/h !
In my case, a big drift and slide on the gravel, kept it upright, launched over the new kerb and off onto the grass with another rider
on my left.
Wish I had my GoPros on 🙂
Website Alert!
Just to let you know, our website has been under sustained attack from a number of computers on the Internet.
This started yesterday and is still happening today (thousands of attempts).
The attackers are trying to login to our site by guessing first names of people and their passwords.
Please ensure your passwords are strong ( >8 characters, and a mixture of numbers and letters).
If they hack our site, it will take alot of work to clean up so prevention is much better than the cure!
The site security system is holding up well, but the side effect of people attempting to login might be a system lockout
for your login for several hours and try to use the best vpn in australia for even more security. So if this happens, please bear with us until the attacks stop.
Video from the Australia Day Crit B-Grade Mens/A-Grade Womens
Featured in this brief video, we have the talented Andrew Ballam and mildly rambunctious Des Mullins. Enjoy !
It’s available in 720p High Definition, so go full-screen!
Reminder: Australia Day Criterium Entries Close Tonight !
Unlike other SPR/RCCC Crits that have been held so far, Race 3 requires all entries to be in (and paid for) tonight (or pay a late fee)

Housekeeping : Major site update
Hi everyone,
First day of the year, and a bucket load of site updates have been completed. If you see anything out of order, please get in touch with me to figure out what needs to be done.
There’s only one real issue we know of – the sponsors graphics being too big for the toolbar – still figuring out why this happens (making the toolbar bigger doesn’t work).
For those of you including Prez, who do a few uploads and posts, we are running the latest WordPress 3.5 which has a new Media Uploader. If you’re uploading images, you will find that things have changed.
Otherwise, the site seems to be running smoothly. Enjoy !
Site Maintenance
Hi everyone,
Now that the kit order has finished, I need to do some site maintenance and updates today.
You will experience some down time for the SPR site this afternoon, and when it’s back up, some things might not look quite right for a while.
Please bear with me while I do the upgrade, and if you see anything that doesn’t look right from tomorrow onwards, I’d appreciate a message via this website.
Cheers,
Andrew Wong
Housekeeping 1 Sept 2012
Hi all,
As part of the house keeping I’m doing on the SPR website, I’ve deleted about 250 or so bogus user accounts.
If for some reason I’ve deleted you by mistake, sorry for the errant mouse click – please re-join and all is forgiven 🙂
Cheers,
Andrew Wong
Supporting my Ride to Conquer Cancer
Hi everyone,
For those of you who might not know me, I’m Andrew Wong – the guy with the RiceRims wheels and the custom South Perth Rouleurs bikes, and one of the people who maintain the SPR website.
At the end of October this year, I will be doing the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
This is quite a new event, but it’s been very successful in Canada, for raising funds for cancer research.
It’s quite personal for me, as my 16 year old niece has been battling cancer for the past 2 years. She’s now in pallative care, and my family and friends are
getting together to do this ride to benefit the people who are so committed and work so hard to find treatments for cancer.
I’d really appreciate if you’re able to help sponsor me for this ride. Donations (fully tax deductible) can be made at my rider page <click here>
Thank you 🙂
