so, why should you become a member of spr???
if you want to race then you need to get a race licence. to get a race licence you need to join a club.
but what if you don’t want to race??? we offer recreational licences for $86 a year (this equates to $1.65 a week) and this will give you a bit of insurance coverage in case you have an accident as well as a bit of cash to us, to help run the club.
but besides insurance, what else is that membership card good for???
well, like last year, we are running another members benefits program. this means that at certain businesses that we have listed below, you can get a discount of particular good or services just by showing your spr membership card.
these are generally not blatant percentage off type deals, but rather a good discount off particular items.
like last year we have discounts on helmets (tbe belmont), servicing (bike clinic), trainers (canning bridge cycles), shoes (glen parker cycles south) and bike fitting (glen parker cycles south). this year we also have japanese food (nishiki sushi), timber flooring (modernwood) and security systems (interscope).
if you do manage to take advantage of every single one of these deals then you can save up to $800 off the rrp of the good and service offered. not bad for a $86 investment.
more information can be found here – https://southperthrouleurs.com.au/memberships/members-benefits/
also, just a reminder that race licences run for a calendar year, but recreational licences expire based on quarters depending on when you purchased it (e.g purchase may 2010, expire june 2011). therefore some current members licences will expire soon and some people may have expired at the end of march. best to check your card.

Pete, can you give us the link to the “bike clinic”?
Happy to have a rec licence and ride w you guys.
Pete – just tried to sign up, however the Cycling Australia website seems to have some form of SQL problem. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow.
@crazycanuck click on any of the logo’s on the member’s benefits page and it will take you to their websites.
@mat, i just checked using both explorer and chrome and i managed to get through. might want to try on a different computer.
SQL error now gone…officially a member 🙂
welcome to the club Mat.
Or as Peter would say one more rouleur towards world domination. Didn’t we have a sunglasses deal last year?
Nathan, I don’t think there was a sunglasses deal. I think Pete said the club standard would be Oakley Path Radar and cheapest to buy online.
Anyone had the bike fit at glen parker cycles done? – Would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on it
