raffle draw

the raffle for the tickets to the santos legends of cyling dinner was drawn today and the winning ticket was BLACK B 9 and was bought by Stephen Cooper.  Stephen has won 4 tickets to the dinner in early december.  the raffle managed to raise over $750 to go to cathi’s trust fund to help her with her recovery.  a bit more background info can be found here.

the official draw can be seen in the video below.  there will still be another raffle of a signed orica-greenedge jersey but we are in the process of getting a licence to hold the raffle.  hopefully that will be finalised soon.

  1. Hello spr riders,
Thank you to spr and everyone that purchased a raffle ticket. Thank you Lorraine and Bill for getting the Santos tickets for the raffle. Thank you Andrew and Amanda for your support.
Thanks again to Amanda, Andrew, Mark, Bill, Lorraine and Alison for coming over and taking me out for my coffee fix.
The funds will help me with on going treatment.
My update. I am out of my back brace. 14 weeks was hard work. I still have a broken t8 and look like returning to hospital next yr for another operation. All my other brakes, shoulder, scapular and ribs are mending.
I start rehab in the spinal gym at shenton park soon. Hopefully this will help the t7,8,9 fuse together.
Thank goodness for Star Physio in west Perth they have been working on rebuilding me.

Work and riding a bike will happen again one day next yr. Fingers crossed. This is my goal. I really miss my job.

At this point l am wonkey on my feet and need to build up strenght.
Thanks to my great friends that have helped me laugh during a physically challenge time. You are all awesome.

And if anyone is planning to hire a bike over seas please make sure the brake set up is the same as your personal bike.
Wishing you all a safe ride
    Cathi

  2. Thanks very much to those who organised the raffle prize, and to Peter for tying up the loose ends. We had a great time last night. Stuart O’Grady was an entertaining speaker, and we learnt that he does 32000 kms per year – I now understand why I’m in Main 2 and he’s doing the T de F! Best wishes also to Cathi as you continue on the road to recovery.
