perth international track cycling grand prix – VIP package

a lot of you already know about and are probably going to the track grand prix that is on at the speeddome on the 24th march.  those that have been before can all attest to what a great night it is of racing across all levels.  this year the track world champs are on in melbourne in april, so many of the quality field that are heading over there will be using this event as a warm-up.

tickets to the gold section are $45 and can be booked via the link on there website here.

however, murray from track cycling wa, has asked if we would be interested in booking the “flight deck” for the night.  this is an indoor air conditioned lounge and balcony deck area which will give, without a doubt, the best view of the velodrome.

this package is a fully catered and provides –  food, beer, wine, soft drinks and waitress.

complete package – $135 per head – maximum of 30 people (but you don’t have to book out the entire thing)

if anyone is definitely interested, place your name in the comments as i think it will make a good night for the club and support track cycling wa which does a great job at putting on these events.  once we have some firm numbers (10-15 perhaps) i can get back to murray and see what we can do.

2010 Perth International Track Cycling Grand Prix

This Saturday the Track GP will be on at the SpeedDome in Midland.  For everyone that has attended the last couple of years, they can all attest to what a great night it is.  For those that haven’t, come along to see some high class track racing.  Tickets are available from ticketmaster and are priced from $24 – $45 depending on where you sit. 

 

2010 Perth International Track Cycling Grand Prix

World champions of track cycling will line up in a star studded international field at the 2010 Perth International Track Cycling Grand Prix in November.

Leading the charge for Australia will be Anna Meares, Kaarlee McCulloch, Cameron & Travis Meyer, Josie Tomic, Luke Durbridge, Melissa Hoskins, Sarah Kent, Shane Perkins and Scott Sunderlandalongside world ranked riders from across the globe all chasing UCI (Union Cyclist International) points in an extravaganza of speed and lycra.

Ticketmaster is giving members the opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public!

cyclo-sportif, trade show and track grand prix

this sunday sees a pretty big day for cycling in perth.  the cyclo-sportif swan valley event will kick off in the morning to be followed by the track grand prix.  while this is going on, there is a trade show being held at the velodrome.  we have been invited to put up a tent at the trade show to promote the club and try to get a few more members. 

we have 5 teams registered for the cyclo-sportif and there are some first timers and newbies involved.  as such we need to borrow some jerseys.  if you are racing and have a spare, bring it along on sunday morning.  if you are not racing, but want to share, bring it along on saturday to the start of the ride.  make sure you put your name in the inside in such a way that it is still there after it is washed.  we need all sizes.

with the trade show tent, we are looking at just promoting the club and encouraging some of these cyclo riders to give our group riding a go.  we will also have the powertest setup again so that people can see how good they are an possibly win some prizes.  it is really just about showing people what type of club we are.  however, i need some help.  if you have some spare time on sunday from 11am onwards (or earlier for setup) then let me know via the comments.  it won’t be very difficult, just talking to people mostly. 

we also need to borrow an old bike to use for the powertest.  it will need to have the seat adjusted each time so probably an alloy would be best and about 54cm.  let me know if you can help.
