in bed last night listening to the rain smash down at about 3:30am i wondered how many people would turn up for the 7am ride. getting ready in the morning, and the next shower came though and i was sure that it would be the last nail in the hills ride coffin. sure enough, i head out, with rain coat on, into a blistering headwind to find the carpark deserted. waiting, waiting, waiting…nothing. i decided to cut a lap of the river instead as i didn’t feel safe hitting the hills solo in these conditions. got as far as the narrows and got smashed by sideways rain. instead of turning left along mounts bay i turned right and cut a lap around the causeway and back home. depressing kind of day.

The moral of the story is…..you should have come to York!
Mate, you get full marks for the effort. It is kind of funny though. Sad solo figure. I spent 2 hours in the gym – not the same but got a good sweat up.
Are you stupid??
gutsy effort Pete! Joya won’t let me out when they post a ‘severe weather warning’.
That photo says very unimpressed Prez
At no stage over the weekend did the thought of riding a bicycle enter my mind. Respect to those who not only thought about it, but did it.
It is becoming obvious that I need to have a stern word with myself.
Empty car park is empty.
PS … that piccie is GOLD!! I attempted a run instead during the tiniest break in the weather yesterday. BIG mistake. Everything hurts like hell. Seriously regret not opting for a ride in the cyclone.
Turning up for a group ride during a severe weather warning….

I have a valid excuse – My stuff was still wet from Saturday’s ride 😉
Funny how mountain biking in the rain feels as good as road riding feels bad! Msg me anyone keen for an alternative ride. Will post in future to get mtb training in. Munda Biddi around Serpentine was my silver lining. Didn’t meet a soul except for a few wet birds. 😉
