Hi Guys,

We have 11 people so far who are doing the  Lighthouse to Lighthouse (road bike) Sunday 12 Oct 2014. Most likely this will divide into a faster and “less fast” group – Shaw wants to make it in 4 hours..I just want to make it…

spr watertower challenge 2013

Watertower Challenge 2013 Bannerremember all the fun you had last year on the watertower challenge???  well we are running it again and this time we are welcoming people outside the club.  there is already a webpage setup with registration, a facebook event and even a strava “club”.

there will be only a few volunteers needed on the day, so what we need from the members (besides entering the event) is to promote this to all their cycling buddies outside of the club. it will be held on the 17th nov which is one week before the great perth bike ride.  this will be a good warmup event for those doing that event as you can go your own pace.  it also sits somewhere between the great perth bike ride and the 3-5 dams ride as far as difficulty.  A further benefit is that it doesn’t leave the perth city limits, so you are really never very far from home.

Men’s Only Arvo + Gender Neutral/Non-Specific Dinner & Drinks….(aka Bye Bye Paul O)

Following on from Brendan’s original post regarding an exclusive SPR Men’s Night, we can now confirm that we’re pulling together an “alternative” to include the ladies because that’s just the way we are; an inclusive club!….and our ‘men’s night’ just happens to have been hijacked by Paul O heading off to KL at short notice. We figured we shouldn’t be gender biased…and he does/we do looouve the ladies….!

Based on all the comments received from Brendan’s post, and in keeping with our cycling heritage, we’re going to have two “stages”; both on the same day.

Stage One (SPR “Men’s Only” Arvo)

Where: Belmont Kart World 8 Cowcher Place Belmont
When: Saturday 25 August, 2012 5pm – 7pm
What: “Monza” Karting

  • Short warm up
  • Heat 1 (7 laps) all drivers compete in sessions

  • Trophy presentation for winners

Cost: $55 pp
How Many: 35 places MAX (+ spectators if you’d like to come along and watch/cheer/jeer).
