I compiled a video from yesterdays Main 1.5 ride. It is a little long and a little rough. It is the first one I have compiled since getting the camera so few lessons learned. I have included the full length of Benara Road start to finish. This starts from around the 14 minute mark. I’m sure all who were not on the ride will find this pretty boring. However if you were in the group I know you will spot yourself.
hey guys, gez has just added another video on you tube. this one is from the anzac weekend and jumps between the old pappas saturday to spr sunday to the old pappa’s public holiday ride to our public holiday ride.
there are a couple of instances that you really need to watch when he is on the old pappa’s public holiday ride. this is from that massive group that was heading the other way just before we got to shelley. yep, that’s right, the one that had the crash on it. if you watch the footage, it was surprising to see that there weren’t more injuries. this is the reason why we have a ride etiquette guide and why we get upset when people do silly things.
a few weeks back when the freeway bikehike was on, the sunday hills ride had a new guy on board. some may have noticed the thing on his helmet that looked online casino like a bike light. well it wasn”t and it was a pretty good quality video camera. you can click on the link below to check out the suffering, especially as the group went up gooseberry and kalamunda rd.
after trawling through 1hr 23min of freeway footage, i have a couple more clips to post.
the first one shows us approaching the narrows and gives an idea of the size of our group. i pushed a bit to get closer to the front so i could get a better position before the “hill” as we past through the city. notice how the group moves around especially when the road goes up over the narrows and some riders slow a bit. we suddenly take up two lanes.
the next clip just shows us going up the hill through the city. see how much the group gets strung out and nicely down to double file. so much easier to control and so much safer. this clip finishes with me coming past darren, who is one of the young riders that occasionally comes out with us on the sunday hills ride. i did catch some footage of him waving to the camera, but it was just as the road swung around the camera received a lens full of sunrise.
