  1. ….but not as alcoholic, nor can i imagine as good for the plaque build up (whilst on the dental school of thought wouldn’t a carbohydrate mouth rinse effectively be a ‘feeding program’ for oral bacteria?).

That said i’ll bring a tooth bruch and i want to give it a bash, will this end up being a (slightly more sophisticated) rematch of the power-weight challenge (although i’m thinking my chances are somewhat different)?

  2. Slightly more sophisticated than the power-weight challenge and they will do it over 45seconds, not 20.. More into my territory… 😉

YOu get blood taken every so often too.. Fun fun..

  3. Guys, they will do a VO2 max or a Conconi test.
Increasing 10-15W every 90secs till you puke.
    Not a nice test….

  4. …..sounds ike a typical Saturday morning.

I’ve wanted to get a VO2 max test done for a while, at least to see where i’m at (or, more suitably, how far away i am).

  5. Melvyn, you coming to take pics?? Make for interesting snaps…

I think the gauntlet has to be dropped… If one does not puke, they are being soft 😉

  6. Hola Senors, I did this test with Edwin 2 years ago (I was a fat(ter) bastard then;) and it was good. I can’t stress enough that this is one of the few free tests that is non-invasive! You should definitely take the test. I htink there was the initial VO2 test then ~5 sprint tests a fortnight apart. The test is probably more indicative of kilo performance (or really shorter) on the track than anything else, i.e. standing starting then sprint.

  7. Daniel, thanks for promoting my study and giving everyone more info on my study! Very appreciated. Indeed, there is no muscle biopsy or rectal probe. A 45-s sprint test and a few blood samples from the fingertip for five trials is a good deal for free VO2peak test, skinfold measurement, and you will be given a $50 worth voucher to use at PIHC.

Btw, Jarrad, do you have another email account? All my emails failed to send through to your inbox.
