Let me start by saying on most weekends I am a wedding and portrait photographer and have never really tried my hand at sports photography, so I thought I would give the weekend’s UCI WCT a crack to see if I could capture some of the SPR crew in action.

My apologies if you were racing and I did not get a snap of you, I will continue to fine tune my skills shooting cycling and also get to know a few more people and faces in the club so I can keep an eye out for you when you are racing and I can bring my cameras to the event.
PS. Whilst mixing in with the crowd at the top of the hill to get some of the images, I noticed the comments by the people around me from other clubs and the general public that the bond and encouragement shown within SPR was envied.
wow! great job Leon! love the one with lisa talking the bottle.. and the chalk one… and the one with all the supporters backs.. ah they’re all bloody great! well done!
Oh man I LOVE image no. 36 in the gallery!!! You caught the moment he unclipped and copped a roar of light-hearted ribbings from the crew! One of my favorite moments of the whole day!
after four laps and five times up the hill, it was my favourite moment too.

Great photos. Shame the only one of me was the one of me quiting. (Oh and helping to pick up a bike) Oh well. Maybe I will print it out and stick it up on the wall for motivation for next year.
