Road Nationals 2026 SPR EOI — It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating and wrapping up Road Nationals 2025, but it is coming around again. Last year we felt like the club left things a little late so we are getting in early this time around.
Please follow the link below to register your interest in riding the in the Nationals with SPR. This will give us time to get teams organised in all of the events and you plenty of time to ensure you have kit 🙂
The Road Nationals will be hosted in Perth from 7 – 11 January 2026:
- Team Time Trial (Clubs), Wednesday / Thursday 7 – 8th January
- Masters/Club Criterium (Team), Northbridge Friday 9th January
- Steadyrack GranFondo (individual), Sunday 11th January

SPR @ TdU 2026 — The Santos Tour Down Under is on again – a fabulous festival of all things cycling held in Adelaide from 16-25 January 2026.
Events include:
- Longer Women’s race 394.6km over three days with all 15 WorldTeams participating
- Men’s 758.9km race over six days including triple ascent of Willunga Hill
- Double ascents of Corkscrew Road for both women’s and men’s races
- New final stage in Stirling for the men’s race
- Return of the inner-city prologue for the Men’s race
- Car park climb
- Get to meet some of the professional cyclists

Tour de Cowaramup 2025 — The TdCowaramup is on again Sunday 12 October 2025; multiple distances/climbs and funds going to support local communities and charities.
Start/ finish: Juniper Estate
Organized by the Perth Integrated Events Team (PIET). Register via link below; three distances 60km (piccolo), 85km (medio) and 130km (gran) – $130 till 30th September, $155 thereafter.
We have accommodation for three nights at the Leeuwin Apartments as per last year, cost $110 pp; in Friday 10th October out Monday 13th October, shorter stay if preferred for the same price. The price increase follows a recent review by the provider after many years with no price increases.

Juniors Ride — The weather for this weekend will be great and we can finally get out for a nice ride all together.
The program for Saturday is to meet under Mt Henry bridge (https://maps.app.goo.gl/NzM6GLa5gF3cumF68) at 11am and ride the following course to Point Walter: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/404364880. We expect to finish the ride in approximately 1.5 hrs. Beginners can join and will ride the first 5km/10km with us and ride back to the start. We will have some additional leaders to help out with the beginners to escort them back.

I am planning to go to Ballidu on 28/9/2025 with my daughter to ride the 40km gravel event. There was a group of SPR juniors last year who did it and we really enjoyed it, apart from the flies that were very annoying! Details about the ride are as follows: https://ballidugravel.com.au/rides/
The aim is to ride the “yes you canola” event. Ballidu is about 2,5 hrs north west of Perth. The ride starts at 1pm and we can do a day trip to Ballidu.
If your child is interested but you cannot accompany her/him I and the other parents will be happy to assist.

From the Ride Coordinator — At SPR, we encourage all riders to familiarise themselves with the planned route before joining a group ride. Not knowing the next turn can increase the risk of accidents — for you and others in the group.
Don’t forget to wear a club kit for the main ride on Saturday. It doesn’t have to be the latest version: vintage, TOMR, anything SPR will be appreciated.
