Main 2 meet the PM

I picked a great day to sleep in. I arrived at 7:05 expecting Prez to be late, but no….gasp…. the car park was empty. Perfect, a chance to practise my chase.Β After catching Main 2 I had a great ride with the sociable Main 2’ers. But the highlight was the dignitary who would be waiting to congratulate Main 2 on a great ride.

After arriving at the coffee stop I was confused to see everyone looking across the road, then I realised they were looking at our welcoming party lead by the PM. I immediately thought, iPhone it is your chance to shine as a camera. But without zoom there wouldn’t be proof that it was actually her. Then Meg suggests, I’ll take a picture with her. Surely they wouldn’t let us do that. So we walk over anyway, and PM and Co pretty much walk up to us, recognising the outstanding effort of today’s ride, and also a great opportunity. Snap, I’m now BFFs with PM.

Then we gave the PM the honour of standing among 14 sweaty, muddy and smelly Β SPR cyclists for a group shot. Main 2 now has the record for the most photos with the PM, 1.

  1. I’ll go one better. As I was leaving the cafe I got a one on one photo with her – will post it with the Sunday report. Didn’t notice the ear lobes (my daughter actually asked the same question) but did remember thinking she’d look shocking in Lycra.

  2. So, did anyone bring up the Preston Point Rd issue with her? Did she say to just Cc her on all official communications to local governments? :p

  3. Awww. How come no-one took the opportunity to give her a big sweaty hug then whisper in her ear the five words she loves to hear.

  4. I reckon we should send this photo to Dome headquarters – hey we may get free coffee for life….

  5. “muddy and smelly”?? Speak for ya self.
Thanks to the nice chappies that dragged me around south st and the rest of the route (again) this morn. Didn’t mean to slow you all down but it was a brill ride nonetheless. PS I want some of whatever Jordan’s on.
