Calling all Garmin Users

Hi all

I have stumbled upon a site called Strava which enables you to compare Garmin data with other Garmin users. I uploaded a couple of rides on there the other day and already I have been compared with a few SPR folk. There are KOM sections (very handy for Sunday rides) where there is a leaderboard, it even gives you power out put estimates for your climbs.

It is pretty cool, I will do some more digging in there to see what can be done (There are a few other SPR folk on there already and SPR has been set up as a club).

The website address is: http://www.strava.com/
Go have a play

  1. good stuff, few of us have been on it for a while and got a number of the routes up.
Might help Pete with the ladder if everyone gets a Garmin πŸ™‚

  2. I’ve named a few of the hills climbs, looks like my KOM glory is going to be short lived on those “ridden 1 times by 1 person” segments! πŸ™‚

  3. Iphone, Androids and other Smartphones.. The iphone needs a HR app now..

  4. Can you upload (export) past data stored on Garmin Connect to Strava or can it only be done direct off Garmin device?

  5. Hi Leon, you can export past data. I think strava goes into the computer you are on and looks for exercise files. If you have files on different computers you will have to log in and upload from the different computers…

Not too hard to do as even I managed.
